7 electricians and 7 heating engineers and 6 roofers on our registers cover Fairford and Lechlade.
Short answer
Fairford and Lechlade are two small towns in the south-east of Cotswold District, on the River Coln and the upper Thames. Both have conservation areas and many listed buildings. Low ground in both towns has flood risk, so gutters, drains and the height of sockets matter as much as the roof.

Stone centres and post-war homes
In Fairford, the Market Place, High Street and London Street have stone houses with stone slate roofs. Lechlade has stone houses around its Market Place, below the spire of St Lawrence’s Church, which is Grade I listed. Both towns grew after the Second World War, so post-war houses and newer estates are common.
Flood risk
Fairford’s worst flood on record was in 2007, when 52 homes and 4 businesses were affected, Cotswold District Council says. Lechlade stands where the Coln and the Leach meet the Thames. An electrician can put ground-floor circuits on their own protective device and fit the consumer unit above the likely flood level.
Consent and the network
